Mitsouko Eau de Parfum – Guerlain

Created by Jacques Guerlain in 1919, Mitsouko was named after the heroine of the popular novel La Bataille, a Japanese noblewoman caught in a quiet, emotional turmoil during the Russo-Japanese war. In the story, Mitsouko waits in silent strength as her lover, a British officer, goes to battle—her restraint and grace inspiring the poetic nature of the fragrance.

Innovative and bold for its time, Mitsouko blends the classic chypre structure with a luminous peach accord. This unexpected pairing brought a sense of modernity to the perfume, establishing its legendary status.

The fragrance is presented in the iconic “inverted heart” bottle designed by Raymond Guerlain. Adorned with elegant scrolls in the Art Nouveau style and topped with a hollowed heart stopper, the design represents both creative daring and refined romanticism.
